Guest guest Posted July 31, 2009 Report Share Posted July 31, 2009 Hello all, I just got an Excalibur dehydrator and was very excited to begin making my own yogurt. I have made yogurt in the past, but it required a little too much baby-sitting to consistently make the amount that my family consumes. Imagine my horror now that I've ruined two batches!! I'm following the variation for raw milk yogurt in NT, and both times it has come out chunky (curdled?) and smelling of yogurt, but also smelling slightly of soured milk. The first batch I let go much longer than the 8 hours, so yesterday I followed the instructions exactly. The same thing happened! Does anyone have any advice? I REALLY want to stop buying yogurt and I want to figure this thing out before I waste any more milk!! Your comments are appreciated!
