Guest guest
28yo female ptc today with recent diagnosis of Hepatitis C and 13 weeks pregnant. Liver enzymes are all within normal range, bilirubin 1.4, platelets 183,000, WBC 4.9. Hepatitis C antibody 32.2 HCV RNA, Quantitative 31800. Negative for Hepatitis B. She was drinking 3-4 beers a night for 2 years prior to this pregnancy. She has stopped drinking completely with the pregnancy. I would appreciate any recommendations on treatment strategies while she is pregnant and breastfeeding. Also, wanting to make sure I am not missing any further testing or analysis at this time. As of today, she is doing Castor oil packs with no heat, healthy nutrition especially focusing on liver supportive foods, Unda drainage, Vitamin C rich foods, Vitamin D, Omega-3 fatty acids and a pre-natal vitamin and probiotic. Thank you for your assistance, Amy Chadwick, ND Palmer, AK
