Guest guest
I get a flu shot every year. I substitute teach in the public schools a few days every month, volunteer at my daughter's school teaching computers, and teach a children's class at church. Because of those activities a flu shot is almost mandatory for me. I haven't ever been vaccinated for pneumonia, but believe I will this year. The newspaper had an article about flue and pneumonia vaccines today. At least one group of physicians recommends people over 50 getting both. That's me. Taught Kindergarten today. Several teachers and many children are out with a stomach virus. I was practically enundated with situations in which saliva could be transferred: sharpening pencils for little kids, being given trinket to hold at recess that have obviously been in someones mouth or at least chewed a few times. I didn't use to be so paranoid about stuff like this. So why do I do it? Don't need the paltry pennies it pays. But, boy, do I love to teach kids.
