Also ..I have no idea what relevance this has...when we recently did vit

A protocol he had increased epilepsy.

I'll take a stab at this...

From the thyroid groups I have picked up that the low thyroid is

associated with high cholesterol. This tells me that thyroid must play

an important role in fat metabolism. Your child seems to have a problem

in metabolizing fat ( A is fat soluable). Most of these children seem to

have problems metabolizing fat. It's well established in most of our

kids that supplementing with Omegas seem to cause problems after a

while. Iused to think that adding in carnitine would help but i think

there is something more central to be considered.

Adrenal glands use up magnesium when overburdened. If epilepsy is tied

to low magnesium, then maybe the the body's attempt to metabolize the

fat is upsetting the adrenal glands. Mag gets used up, the body starts

fitting....

This is just conjecture...

Yes ....we have had problems with all the oil based supplements ! All

increasing epilepsy. He is on some of them now and seems ok but I had

several attempts to introduce them. It may be that I have helped ease

something and he now tolerates them....but not the big dose of A.

Magnesium is one of his biggies to help his epilepsy.

I think you also said low ferritin was an indicator of hypothyroidism ?

His is 52 ref range 30 - 400.

TSH 3.71

Free thyroxine 10.9 (ref range 12.0 -22)

Free t3 6.4 (ref range 4.0 - 6.8)

Also on the point about salt...I have never understood why some brands

of crisps cause problems as they have the same basic ingredients as

seabrooks...I have checked some out and they have more salt than

seabrooks (which also says sea salt)!
