Just dilute your KT with water if it has got too acidic. BTW, one of the best natural ways of combating cystitis is the wonderful Cranberry, or extract of cranberry. They contain the active ingredient Proanthocyanidine or tannins, which prevent the infection causing bacteria to get a hold on your bladder and/or waterworks. http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/ask_the_doctor/cystitiscranberry.shtml Hope you get back to normal soon, . Connie, There are different schools of thoughts. I practised the one which believes that Kombucha is excellent for both mother and child, even in pregnancy and whilst breast-feeding. The only caveat given which makes sense to me is, that it is unwise to START Kombucha in pregnancy or whilst nursing. If drinking Kombucha has been part of your daughters' lives before, there is no reason whatever to stop drinking it in the measure they desire. Always remember, Kombucha is not a drug but a wonderful balancing food, one of the best! with Kombucha greetings, Margret:-) -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com +----------------- http://www.Gotquestions.org ------------------+ The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. Guest guest
Has anyone tried the natural product Manno Max? found at health food stores? The ingredient is D-mannose, which I believe come from the cranberries. I got much more relief from this product than just cranberry juice or cranberry capsules. Just a suggestion. I hate those infections! I will do anything to not have to take the antibiotics if I have to. >> I'm taking amoxi-clav for a bladder infection, and I haven't been >> drinking my kt, and it will be getting too strong in the cupboard >> waiting for me. Guest guest
I bought mine from www.anahatabalance.com It's still on the sweet side so I'm going to let it ferment for a bit longer but I did receive a nice, thick (almost 1 " ), white, unblemished, ORGANIC :-) scoby in organic starter fluid. They brew in glass only and you can even opt to have it sent in a small glass jar (or a plastic heavy duty sealed bag). So I can't say that it's been great because my first batch is not ready to drink but so far, so good. There is another person here who also bought from them and said she was quite happy with them. There are several members here though that when they have extras are willing to share, you generally pay for postage & handling. -- In original_kombucha , " nadonm " wrote: > > about six months ago a thailand guy wrote tha in his country people prefered to drink brine to clear bladder/uninary > infection. makes a lot of sense :salt end up in the bladder and kills the bug .., so obvious no northameriican would think of that. > I still need a scoby to start making kombucha. Guest guest
Hi , Some antibiotics should not be taken with acidic foods, if that is the case with the one you are taking then perhaps you will need to space the antibiotic well away from your KT drinking....your Pharmacist should be able to tell you whether the antibiotic you are taking has such a restriction or not. Get well soon! Guest guest
Someone asked if they could trust the SCOBYs from the on-line stores. I got my first one from The Happy Herbalist, and I certainly got a good one. I have more SCOBYs than I can imagine what to do with: even using them for skin creams and dog treats, I have a bunch! That first one did an outstanding job of getting me started. THH claims that his are all used with organic teas, and he sends along a good amount of starter. I started with a one-gallon jar making three quarts, then added a three gallon container, then another container that did six quarts, and finally the five-gallon continuous brew. Right now, everything except the continuous brew is resting. My fridge is full of bottled KT; my storage jars are full of SCOBYs; the dog jar (one quart) is full of cut up SCOBYs; and another quart jar is full of ground SCOBYs! She would most likely be fine. It's just general advice not to start someting new you are not used to ... could even be foods and certain exercises. It's only to be safe rather than sorry. It's alright to do what feels comfortable (no drugs, nicotene and alcohol, of course!!). Guest guest
If Kombucha Tea helps clean the system and detox one. I would think this would not be a great thing for the nursing baby. You are trying to get RID of the toxins in YOUR system.. Why TRANSFER them to YOUR baby through the milk.??? Guest guest
Kombacha tea and other liquid probiotics are very good for nursing mothers and their infants. Many infants suffer from acid reflux due to a lack of beneficial flora in their gut. > > > Can you drink Kombucha while your nursing? & what about when your PG? > > Asking for my daughters who drink it and my need this info. > > > > >
