I was not expecting to travel down to the Cities until next month but plans

change. We have to be in the Cities Tuesday so I will deliver some stuff to the

Warehouse at the same time.

There won't be any smoked duck unless someone wishes to special order one. I had

lots of ducks at Meyer's but Dell and Angie's customers wanted to buy them so

none got smoked. I might take the ducks that are at the Warehouse back up with

me since there seems to be a demand for them around Akeley.

I will be bringing 4 different varieties of Barley and Wild Rice soup down. As

per a request, Seasoned Sea Salt with no pepper or paprika in it.

My first batch of kombucha is a delicious success! A great after-dinner drink as

dinner was pheasant hot dish with barley, wild rice, veggies and herbs.

The rabbits are supremely happy and I am too. I finally got them where I want

them, loose in a 10 x 16 insulated building. Flopsy should be very happy

indeed, he is the only boy and he has a harem of 11 girls. They bounce all over

and come up to me to be petted and cuddled.

I'll be started some eggs in the incubator within the week. The meat chickens

that I am borrowing have started to lay. They are my friend's CornishXRock

crossed with Mottled Java. My precious little Cubalayas have also started to

lay. Cubalayas are an endangered breed of chicken. The world would be a poorer

place without them as they are very personable and friendly. And cute. Thinking

I will switch some other birds out and get my Yokohama pair in the heated part

of the barn too. Also endangered and extremely lovely as the males' tails grow

very long.

Not sure if I mentioned the stupendous geese that I bought on our way back up

from the Cities last trip. They are part Dewlap African and are huge! There are

a few too many males, smoked goose, anyone?

:-)Pat Z.
