Guest guest
Hello: Your link did not work but I searched it out and found the jar, yes that will for you but get the 5 qt one, not the small one. The ones I use are very similar, I get them at walmart, they are cookie jars and are very cheap. Nice lip around top to hold rubberband on cloth, I just trow away the tops, don't need them for tea. Good luck. ~Connie~ > > Hi all! > > I just wanted to check with you all before I go out and buy them... are > these jars ok for brewing the Kombucha? > > http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay? > storeId=7 & langId=-20 & catalogId=10103 & productId=71750 > > I hope the link works ok, they are from Ikea, Söta jar with lid. > > Each day I feel a bit closer to well-being! I'm afraid the link doesn't work on my computer. I'll have to post the link to our pc and have a look later. Make sure the jars are not too tall. They should be more like a preserving jar or largish vase with a good amount of body. > I hope the link works ok, they are from Ikea, Söta jar with lid. Lid is not necessary, as you need to cover the brew with a strong cotton cloth or several layers of paper towelling fastened on with a strong elastic or rubber band to keep beasties out! Ikea products are famous and very good. If the jar is sold in the kitchen section it will definitely be glass which is safe to use for brewing the Kombucha. My advise is also that your container should be rather larger than smaller. It should be able to hold at least 5 litres, so you'll never be crowding the jar when you brew 2-4 litres. > Each day I feel a bit closer to well-being! I'm so looking forward to > start brewing. I have a terrible cold, I feel really quite awful, I > wish I had some KT already... Oh dear, and you have your concert coming up! I stand in admiration of you doing all that practising and getting ready for the great day! What music are you going to perform? We are quite a musical family here and play in out church worship band. I play violin/viola and my husband the bass and one of my sons bass and guitar. muchos apologies for long silentio. If I can add anything useful after looking at the jars, I will let you know, of course. Meanwhile, I pray for your speedy recovery from the cold, for health and strength! Kombucha greetings, Margret:-) P.S. Some stores do sell Kombucha ready brewed, and health shops, too. Might be worth investigating. But make sure the Kombucha you buy is NOT pasteurised, as this does away with the pro-biotic effect. -- +---------------------------------------------------------------+ Minstrel@... <)))<>< http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk <)))<>< http://www.AnswersInGenesis.com http://www.lamblion.com/ +---------------------------------------------------------------+ Global peace begins with the Prince of Peace ruling in my heart. Guest guest
Hi Edurne The jars should work fine and I like the price. I checked Ikea USA and could not find these. I searched under Sota, Cat ID 10103, and product ID 71750. I'll be making a trip to the south valley this week and will stop by the Ikea store and see if they are available. I really like the 4.5 liter jar Bill >Hi all! > >I just wanted to check with you all before I go out and buy them... are >these jars ok for brewing the Kombucha? > ><http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?>http://www.ikea.\ com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay? >storeId=7 & langId=-20 & catalogId=10103 & productId=71750 > >I hope the link works ok, they are from Ikea, Söta jar with lid. > >Each day I feel a bit closer to well-being! Guest guest
Hi You have to add the " storeId=7 & langId=-20 & catalogId=10103 & productId=71750 " to the end of " <http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?>http://www.ikea.\ com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay? " to get to the link. Bill >Hello: >Your link did not work but I searched it out and found the jar, yes >that will for you but get the 5 qt one, not the small one. I think you have to add the last bit of the address to the first part for it to work, I think somebody else suggested that. > > Make sure the jars are not too tall. I know the lid is not necessary, I'll just put it away, it was just for the reference of the jar in case the link didn't work. > > Ikea products are famous and very good. I haven't been able to play a note today, I've been feeling really rough. I hope tomorrow will be better, it's getting too close to the recital. I will be performing Schumann Carnival in the first half, and then Piazzolla and stera in the second half (all from Argentina, tangos and other stuff). > > muchos apologies for long silentio. > If I can add anything useful after looking at the jars, I will let you > know, of course.
