They had a persistent TB problem for about 15 years. These were all large farms. One farm owner got $0 million from the government buyout. Then last year there was a farm in California with some positive testing cows. Bovine TB is rampant in Mexico and some people think the Hispanic workers are spreading it to the cows. Michigan has a problem which is being spread by white tail deer to cows. How the deer got it I don't think I've heard. Most states are TB free as far as cattle. However, large farms might change that. The meat packing houses in the West are the second largest concentration of antibiotic resistant TB outside jails and prisons in this country. This is attributed to Hispanic workers. Brucellosis is nearly wiped out. I think there is some among buffalo in the Yellowstone area.
