Guest guest
Hello Friends, I learned this weekend that Whole Foods is going to stop selling raw milk. Please sign this petition to ask Whole Foods to continue to sell raw milk. Please sign it, even if you: 1. already get raw milk easily 2. live in a state where raw milk is illegal 3. don't drink raw milk personally 4. don't shop at Whole Foods Jefferson wrote: " All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent. " Raw milk is already difficult and expensive to obtain in many parts of the country. Removing this vital product from a mainstream marketplace will only make it more difficult and expensive to obtain, and cost-prohibitive for many. By signing this petition, you are sending a message to a major retailer that there is a strong demand for raw milk everywhere. Perhaps if this petition is successful, it can serve as a catalyst to making raw milk legal in all states! Pass this message along to friends! Post it to your Facebook/MySpace/ LinkedIn pages, and on your blogs! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/wholefoodsrawmilk/ I hope to submit the petition by Sept. 25, 2009, so don't delay! Thanks! Guest guest
In my opinion, the petition would be stronger if all types of raw milk was mentioned, such as raw goat's milk- its just about as good if not better than cow's milk! There is not one mention of goat milk in the petition. Also, there was no statement of how raw milk is defined as- to pre-empt Whole Foods from extending an olive branch of pasteurized/non-homogenized milk which is NOT the same as raw milk and thus NOT acceptable. I hope you will put the petition on more lists such as rawdairy@yahoogroups and discussingntyahoogroups (DOT) Let us know how it goes! Guest guest
Hi Sara, Whole Foods will stop selling ALL raw milk in Florida. As far as I know, they've only carried raw cow and raw goat milk, no other raw animals milks like buffalo, etc. If they decide to stop in Florida, they can decide the same in other places too. My knowledge about the benefits of raw milk is mostly in the arena of cow's milk. If you can supply me with some specifics (and document sources) of raw goat milk benefits, that would be helpful and I could possibly add it to the petition text (if it would improve the text). Our WF particular store offers both raw milk and pasteurized non-homogenized milk from the same dairy. They are very different in their labeling. Per Florida law, the raw milk is labeled as pet food: " RAW COW'S MILK. For pet consumption only. Not for human use. " There is no way to confuse this with the non-homogenized milk. Still, we Florida consumers gladly suffer the humiliation of buying this delicious and healthy " pet food " to drink for ourselves! I already posted the petition to discussingnt@yahoogroups but NOT rawdairy. Would you mind posting it there for me? You can copy my original post here. Please, please, please post the petition request wherever you can. At this rate, we could have thousands of signatures by the deadline if everyone here signs and gets their friends and family to sign too. Remember, you don't have to drink raw milk or be affected by the ban to sign the petition! Thanks! Guest guest
Even if you don't sign the petition, please write a short note to Whole Foods anyway at customer.questions@..., telling them why it's important to sell raw milk and why it's better for you than pasteurized milk (for sources, see the bottom of the petition). Then ask them to remain carrying it where it's legal! http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/wholefoodsrawmilk/ Thanks!
