Guest guest
I have a 3 y/o female with uveitis and interstitial nephritis. Mom noticed the pupil of one eye had a " corner " to it and was subsequently dx/received tx at Casey Eye Institute in Portland. The inflammation has been difficult to control. She is on Prednisolone, Zantac and currently Methotrexate. They return to re-check inflammation of eyes this week and see if they can begin weaning off steroids. The kidney inflammation resolved with original course of steroids. At 10 weeks old, she had surgery for 3 inguinal hernias. Breach, so C-section birth and was not breathing at birth. Poor sleep for entire life. Nursed for 1 year. My tx has been anti-inflammatory diet, probiotics, fish oil, castor oil packs, nutritive tea after first visit. There is some research about curcumin's effectiveness at decreasing the progression and severity of uveitis and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with this. I have read about eye drops being used as well as systemic tx. Any other treatment ideas would be greatly appreciated, as she is so young and on a strong couple of meds for a severe condition.
