Guest guest
A week without kombucha!!!!....You got to be kidding...... I might, and I add another might, be able to go a day, without kombucha, but never a week.....My whole body would shut down for sure.....I have been drinking my kombucha in really nice glasses, and hold these glasses in my right hand.....Perhaps if I hold the glasses with my left hand, This will give right hand a break....and I won't even need to stop drinking at all....Now this is sound advise for sure....ron and vivian in leander tx
Guest guest
Haha, yeah, when I got my new mushrooms to get started I also got a bottle of extract, and have been taking the drops for about a week. My normally very clean face(thanks to a clean diet) has been breaking out like you wouldn't believe. I had to stop just to give it time to heal. A quick trip to Bikram Yoga has helped(thanks Kombucha for reminding me I'm not actively going! Kombucha to push it to the skin, hot yoga for 90 mins to push it out of the skin). But I stopped, and am waiting. As my fermentation is going very slowly I want to make the drops last a little longer as well. -- > > Thank you for the web news site, included a link to a natural health > site also. > Audrey > > Clipping; > It should, however, be noted that it could have a few unpleasant > side-effects as well as all its beneficial properties. Guest guest
Hi , If you are not already doing so, you may want to try increasing the amount of water that you drink. Guest guest
I truly believe that our bodies tell us what they need or want, so Its my GUESS that you are simply detoxing. Otherwise you wouldn't like the KT. Tuesday, October 10, 2006, 4:09:53 PM, you wrote: Hi All, I'm new to this list and to Kombucha. I've brewed a couple of batches, but it has been making me very sick...the digestive disorder kind of thing. Have any of you had this experience? I was only drinking a little bit (maybe 4 ounces...probably less) twice a day. When I stopped, it took my GI symptoms over a week to go completely away. I tried it again a week later and reacted the same way after drinking 2 ounces. I tried to just take a Tablespoon yesterday...made my tummy a little rumbly. So, do you think it's toxins clearing out, or could it be that I'm truly allergic? Thanks for your help. I'm a little bummed because I loved the taste and was looking forward to all of the benefits. Guest guest
> So, do you think it's toxins clearing out, >or could it be that I'm truly allergic? I agree with Zoe. This question comes up a lot. If you drink KT with food, it helps you digest and assimilate your food, and starts conditioning the gut to absorb nutrients better in general. If you take KT between meals, it works more on detoxing and tissue health. Both modes build health, but if one's gut isn't working properly, the detox won't be as effective anyway. So my guess is you've been drinking it on an empty stomach. imo, stomach upset as a result of KT drinking is because our gut needs conditioning. Many many people do not adequately assimilate their nutrients and don't realize it. So, would suggest that you drink KT with your meals, starting with an ounce or two. Diluting with a little water often helps also, but you don't want to get too much water in during eating because it dilutes the stomach acids too much, so a little dilution, or not, as you wish. Stay with KT only with meals for a few weeks, if you are patient you'll reallly be doing your body a favor. Then, keep drinking with meals and add in between, and see how that feels. You'll have fewer detox symptoms if you start by enhancing your gut function. Let us know how it goes, this is important cultural information that helps us all when we share it. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
i have read it is important to drink plenty of water after drinking KT, and water is also important if your body is detoxing. however, as victoria stated, you don't want to have water with your meals or it will retard digestion. so if you have the KT during your meal, just make sure to get plenty of water in between meals. and i've read it's better not to have much water within the hour before or after meals as well. so i suggest sipping water throughout the day, keeping the above in mind. also, it's ok to continue reducing the amt of KT..or just sticking with the tablespoon for several weeks. and very gradually increase the amt, perhaps over several weeks or even months. no rush. vandana > > > > So, do you think it's toxins clearing out, > >or could it be that I'm truly allergic? > > I agree with Zoe. Guest guest
Thanks for your suggestions. At this point I am planning on continuing with a Tbsp at meals for a while and hopefully increasing after a week or two. I usually drink a lot of water during the day, but I will make sure I do that too. If you have any other suggestions or thoughts, let me know. I'll keep you posted...
