Guest guest
If your religious beliefs lead you to believe that it is "sinful" then you are free to act on your beliefs in many ways, directly through volunteering or mission work, indirectly through donating money, etc. Those people that I have taken care of that have religious beliefs about healthcare (Amish) where it's more about their way of life and privacy have had no problem paying and don't ask that anyone pay for them. They have built a barn for one of the OB docs who even offered not to bill them they wouldn't take charity. My little hospital has it's share of migrants and many of them are working in jobs (farming and chicken processing) that are "below" 3-4 generation American breed persons. The medical billing problem goes way beyond migrants. Our big problem is 24 yr olds having their 4 or 6th kid living on the system and their parents do too and many of them do wear clothing from the mall and all of them have cell phones & smoke and they all want "room service" for the family, drinks, private rooms, etc etc etc.
