Guest guest
Hello, I have used jasmine tea to ferment KT a number of times, and I like the flavor. My understanding of it is that it is not a separate tea, but a scent added to the green or black tea. The scent comes from the jasmine flowers. It didn't seem to damage my SCOBY. I have also used China black tea with rose petals (delicious!). I don't use them for every ferment. Maybe others with longer experience can share. Guest guest
Thanks Bruce, that's what I thought, but it makes me feel better to hear someone else say it. > > Hello, > > I have used jasmine tea to ferment KT a number of times, and I like the flavor. Guest guest
I currently have a batch brewing. I love jasmine in teas, so I bought a bag of jasmine blossoms from an on-line organic tea company that I have had very good luck with. I started adding jasmine blossoms to any tea I was making. Now that I am doing KT, I came across a full bag of jasmine blossoms, and decided to give them a go. I'll let the list know if this batch is as successful as my regular brew. I made everything else exactly the same as I have been doing for a couple of months (we like what I have been getting from my own bres), and just added a large tea bag that I filled with jasmine blossoms when I was steeping the tea. Guest guest
My jasmine tea is a flavored green tea, and yes I've been using it in KT with no problems yet. zoe Tuesday, January 16, 2007, 10:16:24 AM, you wrote: Is Jasmine tea appropriate for making kt with? Is it part of the tea family that is fine to use? Is it fine to use without black or green tea included? I've read of people using jasmine in their kt, and I tried it and it has a really nice taste. Is it good for the scoby though? Are green tea jasmine and jasmine tea different? Thanks,
