Guest guest
Hi June, We first worked on gross motor imitation, then oral, verbal imitation - along with dietary interventions, biomedical, supplements etc., It took a lot of time and effort but worked in the end. What does your son currently use to communicate? Not sure about b6. Guest guest
June, Does your child have any bowel troubles? just wondering as my ds can exhibit aggression when in pain from constipation or with bacterial overgrowth in the gut. Have you noticed any trigger(s) for the aggression? DMG helps some people with speech, might be worth a try, no guarantees but it is unlikely to do any harm and is not very expensive. hth, Nikki > Hello everyone > My son is 11year old and non verb I would like some advise on supplement which help aid speech. my son had the AIT treatment at the Light and Sound Centre  there was no improvement.   I tried the gluten and wheat free diet and dairy free diet. at the moment I am using  Efalex omega-3+6 also can b6 help with aggressive behaviour . > > > > June >

Guest guest
HI JUNE! Its Ola! Hope you are fine... i have sent you two links, one from autism research which researches interventions and the other an independent study from the univresity of sunderland. In the later study there was no conclusive evidence with DMG, but i must add that they didnt do any independent studies they just went on hearsay. They say that parents argue that they have seen a significant improvement in behaviour but it was also reported that this was only temporary as the effect wore off within six weeks. DMG is imported from the States, i tried to find a company that sell it in the UK but cant. DMG is technically classified as a food. It is found, in trace amounts in some foods, such as brown rice and liver http://www.researchautism.net/interventionitem.ikml?ra=56 http://centres.sunderland.ac.uk/autism/research-and-papers/drug/ > > Hello everyone > My son is 11year old and non verb I would like some advise on supplement which help aid speech. my son had the AIT treatment at the Light and Sound Centre  there was no improvement.   I tried the gluten and wheat free diet and dairy free diet. at the moment I am using  Efalex omega-3+6 also can b6 help with aggressive behaviour . > > > > June >

Guest guest
You can get DMG from the Nutricentre, I just checked x
Guest guest
Re DMG - you could try this one: http://www.nutricentre.com/Products/Products/PID-KRK00816.aspx if you are a Treating Autism member the Nutricentre will give you a 25% discount. They also do capsules if your child can swallow these, which works out a bit cheaper but the liquid taste really nice, we never have a problem getting it down ds. What test did you son have for his bowel? Also FYI here is a list produced by ARI rating interventions, conventional and otherwise, very useful to see what other parents think have worked for them: http://www.autism.com/treatable/form34qr.htm#biomedical Quite interesting to see that Chelation has the highest rating for 'Got Better' and that most of the prescription drugs have higher percentage ratings for 'Got Worse'. This may of course have something to do with the type of parent willing to fill in their questionaire, but it is good to see that the more natural stuff has very, vey low ratings for getting worse.
