Doesn't " burping " the bottle let out all the co2 that's been

developing and set u back in the carbonation process?

In a dozen new bottles there is a possibility of one weak bottle. For

safety and averting mess always shelve your KT bottles in a plastic

crate.

On day 3, it EXPLODED and send shards of glass 4 feet in every

Thanks for the suggestion, but my question still remains: Is it

important to burp the bottles? Doesn't this defeat the purpose by

letting out the co2? thanks

No. Most of the CO2 is dissolved in the KT. Letting off the pressure does

not lose it. Leaving the cap off or loose, the dissolved CO2 slowly

dissipates into the air. But when you open it and close it again, the

bottle quickly repressurizes and keeps the CO2 in solution.

That's my experience.

Just had the same thing happen to me in my kitchen this last year. What

Hi all! I am a newer member just starting to enjoy the benefits of my

own KT and have a question about this. I love the bubblier KT and have

bottled my first batch and let sit out for a second ferment to make it

bubbly. I didn't know anything about burping the bottles until the

post, but by then, mine was ready for the fridge and thankfully -

nothing burst. However, mine is not as bubbly as I have bought it from

the health food store - the synergy kind. I let it sit in a cupboard

for about 6 days after bottling. Does anyone have any ideas about

this? Has anyone found the way to have successful bubblies with no

explosions?? Thanks in advance! T
