Guest guest
Hi Audrey and EveryOne, Good idea, however, I would suggest using the flavored teas as additions after bottling rather than in the process of brewing and fermenting your Kombucha tea. Those teas contain various spices that might over time change your Kombucha in various unknown ways.... ..if you do brew with them then keep a Kombucha made with unflavored teas for backup.... Guest guest
Hi Skye, The ancient Vedic system of health care that originated in India is called Ayur-vedic.....science of life. In Ayurveda they say that there are three primary types of beings.... Pitta, Kapha, and Vata....most of us are primarily one of those three but many people have combinations of two types or sometimes all three. If you go to any Ayurvedic website they will explain the characteristics of the various types....and you can see which fits your own pattern the best. Then you can just put that type with tea after it in any search engine and get the right tea for your type. It is much more complex than that but that is a beginning and it can lead to interesting self discovery:-)) Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev -- In original_kombucha , Skye Leuer wrote: > > Has anyone figured out how to know what tea is for your body type yet? > I can't figure it out. > > Skye > > > Re: Tea for your body types > > Hi Audrey and EveryOne, > > Good idea, however, I would suggest using the flavored teas as > additions after bottling rather than in the process of brewing and > fermenting your Kombucha tea. Guest guest
Thanks Bev, for the Ayurveda definitions. There are also metabolic types ala Dr. Mercola. And Blood types with A being mostly vegetarian, O being meat tolerant and AB in between. And one must always keep in mind Sheldon's morphs [Endo, Meso and Ecto]. I'm a 3-3-4 in Sheldon's scale of 7 for the dominance of each. http://experts.about.com/e/s/so/somatotype.htm And Jung's Personalitiy types. And a blend of Sheldon and Jung called Socionics: I would think each of these type systems could influence how any food or medicine performs in that " type " of body. rusty Re: Tea for your body types > Hi Skye, > > The ancient Vedic system of health care that originated in India is > called Ayur-vedic.....science of life. > > In Ayurveda they say that there are three primary types of beings.... > Pitta, Kapha, and Vata....most of us are primarily one of those three > but many people have combinations of two types or sometimes all three. > If you go to any Ayurvedic website they will explain the > characteristics of the various types....and you can see which fits > your own pattern the best. Guest guest
Hi Bev, I friend is shipping me a few specialy scobies, so I want to ask about storage until I can order the proper tea for each one special. Do I just feed it some filtured sugar water so if it starts evaporation? Guest guest
Hi Audrey, Don't know the answer to your question....they would probably be alright in just sugar water for awhile or you could make up regular tea, sugar, water mixture to keep them until the specialty teas arrive. You might ask the people who are sharing their special Kombucha Colonies with you what they would recommend.
