Just recheck it in a couple weeks to see if it has changed. Most things hurt if you poke them. Tissue is naturally bumpy at our age! lol Marta

Guest guest
Vicki, I actually had an area that hurt about a year after my DS about one inch or so above my incision! I was in Delano for my checkup and I showed Dr K and told him that it hurts when I touch it. So of course Dr K said 'well, stop touching it then!'..lol..I told him I could have saved myself the plane fare since my brother gave me the same advice! Seriously though, he just said it was scar tissue and sure enough after a few more months it went away and stopped hurting as well. I'm not saying it's not a hernia, but it could also be scar tissue as the incisions underneath may not always exactly align with the outwardly visible incision. Hope that helped! *hugs* Anita in Denver 11/08/01 Dr Keshishian > > ok here goes- > > i was poking around near my incision just to make sure everything > felt ok. im a hypochondriac- what can i say? anyway- about 2 inches > to the right of my incision, there is something kind of pokey. it > feels like a bump or something pointy and it hurts when i tough it. > ok- of course i thought maybe the big " C " . there is a reason my > hubby threw away my medical book........lol. i dont know what it is > but it hurts and im wondering what would cause this. anyone else > have this after their repair?? could it be scar tissue or mesh im > feeling?? > > vicki
Guest guest
> it >feels like a bump or something pointy and it hurts when i tough it. Vicki, I'll tell you what Dr. K. told me.. If you do something and it hurts, DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!! LOL Actually, I think you may be feeling the edge of the mesh and it will take some time for it to heal in to the tissue properly. The more you poke, the more it hurts, and the longer it will take to heal. Sort of like picking at an itchy scab, it just has to heal all over again. So.. DON " T DO THAT!! ;-)) Jerry

The PS said it was scar tissue and isolated pockets of fluid. He said it could take up to a year for the scared areas to soften. So Your perfectly normal!
