No I don't think AT ALL that you have made her worse by her protcol, but if she is in a relatively new relationship concurrent with the time she came to you, then it would be beneficial to know her partner's health history or meet with him or test him. I would not be surprised at all if her relations are disrupting her vaginal flora. I've experienced this first hand and had no previous history of yeast or issues along those lines. It could be a ph issue (he could be on a medicine that is significantly shiftng the ph of his urogenital tract and excretions, it could be his urogenital flora are out of balance, or some other issue like lubricants, birth control, etc.). (Wise Women Suppositories are excellent). It's very disheartening when we put our all into working with someone and see them get worse, and we should be open to possibilities of being on wrong track, but how many people have you done liver and BTG and hormonal work on and their cycles worsened, maybe changed, yes, but worsened? How much more of an influence is not only the emotional and physical stress of a partner and bringing someone else's whole world into one's own life no matter how enjoyable sexual sharing, companionship etc, It may be that your start concurrent with that relationship has actually mitigated the extent of her symptoms - of course we don't know, but it is possible. Not giving more consideration to that is like when we think one little supplement will "work" despite the 2 + pounds a day of food they might eat that they could be intolerant to.Ooh. Not enough clients, I've too much time to write . . !, CCN I know a chriopractor that has started coming to me about 1 yr ago for general health improvement. I implemented the BTGs and started with EFAs, probiotics and b-complex. She said she had some irregular cycles in the past and has alot of stress and low energy at times. UNDA-wise I started with 1, 20, 258 and then cycled between sets for female hormones and stress support. In Nov, she got a yeast infection (1st time ever she reports). I started her with some of Dr. Adam's dysbiosis protocols (the simlified diet, UNDAs, and cycling throuh supplements like candicin, berberis formula, black walnut caps, etc). It seems to resolve by the end of Nov, but then sometime in Dec it came back. Also, now with her last cycle, she didn't get her period. She has been checking if she is pregnant but tests have been negative so far. She DID get some typical SSx around the time she shoudl have gotten her period however so i tyhink its a disruption in her cycle and not a pregnancy. She is getting very fustrated with the lingering yeast infectiona nd wants to stop doing everything since her midwife told her that since all this started after she started seeing me that she should stop most of what I gave her. To quote her e-mail to me: "She also asked when I started to get the yeast infections and other correlations. She thought it's possible that I'm sensitive to and since we have candidia on our skin I may be sensistive to his candida if my diet isn't mostly free of sweets or breads as it typically was prior to meeting him (it wasn't free of alcohol thought just an fyi). She also suggested since I had started seeing you the beginning of the year prior to the first yeast infection and the supplements are new to me that I started taking they may not be agreeing with the balance in my body and could be a factor as well. Her thought is that it sounds like I'm taking a lot of supplements for someone with not a lot of health problems (meaning my menstrual cycle was regular, I wasn't trying to get pregnant nor have issues with getting pregnant to begin with) between the flaxseed oil, EPO, Undas, along with the basics of fish oils, probiotic, and vit b/multi it sounds like a lot to her. Honestly doc Idk, I'm quite frustrated and really am fed up with the whole thing. Having recurrent yeast infections is not comfortable, nor is it fun for my relationship with . My purpose of coming to you is so that I'm as healthy as I can possibly be. I understand I have changed my lifestyle over the past year and I'm working on getting it back to what it was exercise and diet wise. However if I get another yeast infection after another couple months of a clean diet, exercise, and taking the supplements I may want to do as she suggested and just start back to square one with the basics of fish oils, multivitiamin and a probiotic." Any ideas/suggestions? I honestly have never had a patient get progressivly worse when seeing me before. Thanks! ND Islip NY
