Guest guest
I already know why soy is so common in conventional, industrial farming. What bothers me is that it's so common on farms that fancy themselves as pastured producers. For example there was some reduced price lamb at valley natural foods the other day and the brochure for the producer extolled the virtues of pastured animals but then went on to say that later they are fed a mixture of grains. I contacted the company to find that they grow their own soy beans then roast them and give to the animals for protein. What gives?
Guest guest
I spoke with a woman who touted she single handedly developed the protocol (through General Mills) for feeding cows soy. She was very proud of herself and the accomplishment has given her a very secure employment there. I asked her why would they want to do that. She said, because farmers are poor and soy is cheap. Lovely, eh? Carol f
