Guest guest
I think i said thanks too soon. I looked thru all the files that even had the word homeopathy in it and I can't find any file that has any info on converting the CH and K series to X, C, and M series. Guest guest
Hi It is a word file, about halfway down the list called Homeopathic Potencies and Dynamizations.doc. It was posted by karenbenton in Dec 09. If you open the file, the info you want is near the bottom of the document. Guest guest
I have read that one, twice just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Are you referring to the equivalencies chart between CH and K? That I already know and have in my office. I am looking into how to know what X or C or M to use that is equivalent to the CH or K. For example, if I wanted to give China 5CH to someone , but Seroyal dosen't have it, I need to know what potency to get from say Helios, which has X, C, and LM, not CH or K potencies. Guest guest
Hi C and CH remedies are the same thing. X and DH remedies are the same thing. C is the roman numeral for 100, so 1 drop in 100 for the strength of the dilutions. The H just stands for Hahnemann, so, according to the method of Hahnemann. The X is the roman numeral for 10, and the D stands for decimal system - so both represent the dilution of 1 drop in 10. As you read in the handout, C and K remedies are prepared very differently, but, you can use the chart at the bottom to give the equivalent dose in C that you would use in K. For example, according the the chart in the handout, 200K = 7 or 9C, so you can dose them that way, OR, you can just dose according to how you would normally dose a C remedy - lowest potencies for drainage, 30C for physical symptoms, 200C for mental and emotional symptoms, 1M for serious acute situations, or sometimes use for constitutional prescribing. Of course everyone has different theories on which potencies to choose, but, what always amazes me is that most systems seem to work equally well. The LM system is a completely different system which requires separate study. It is good for people who need daily doses of their remedy, usually because they are antidoting daily with drugs, but there are other situations where this type of very gentle, but regular dosing is so helpful. And, just to note, LMK has nothing to do with LM remedies. They are completely different system. Actually, it would be interesting to hear how other people dose their single homeopathics. How do you choose which potency for which types of problems? Loreen Dawson, ND Sechelt, BC >
Guest guest
Ah, I see. But isn't K a 1:99, just as CH and C is? I thought the only difference between CH and K is that CH gets a new vial each time it is potentized, where as in K they keep reusing the same vial. So C is like CH in preperation, instead of K? Thanks fo the info! ND Islip NY Hi C and CH remedies are the same thing. X and DH remedies are the same thing.C is the roman numeral for 100, so 1 drop in 100 for the strength of the dilutions. Guest guest
Just to throw a twist in...I remember being taught at a Seroyal conference (not sure which one) that some companies that do mass manufacturing (ie: Boiron, Dolisos...not sure about Helios) actually use one vial for repeat succussions to prepare their C potencies...which would make their C more like an Unda K. For the higher K potencies, XMK is more like 200CH (not 200C from a Boiron or Dolisos!)then there's LMK and CMK...not to be considered until you've been treating the patient successfully with this remedy previously in a lower potency...and they are dosed less frequently...like 1x once or twice a year. (based on what I've learned from Dr Gueniot) Hi See the Answers below > > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > Dr. Prego > Long Island Naturopathic, Inc. > 560 Main St, Suite 4 > Islip NY 11751 > 1 > Fax: > http://doctorprego.com > drprego@... > We really appreciate referrals! > -- NDNorth field, RI
Guest guest
Yes, I seem to remember being told (C being more like a K than a CH) a similar thing, that why I am kind of confused. Guest guest
Hi Jim and I have been given false information about homeopathics from Seroyal in the past, so I am not sure that they are a reliable source. In particular I have been told by several people who work there that MK and 1M remedies are the same thing, when in practice they don't work the same way at all. In fact, there is lots of information out there, including the handout posted in the files section (which I believe, originally, came from the UNDA people), which contradict that. Ultimately, I went with what I saw in my practice which was the K remedies were much weaker than the C remedies. My best estimate is that an MK remedy was about equal in potency to a 30C. However, I have found, in practice, that the C and CH remedies work the same way. Now, that may not be true of the dolisos or boiron remedies. I stopped using both these brands because they didn't seem to be as effective. (Maybe because they are true CH potencies, if what Jim is saying about them is true). However, when I use an UNDA CH remedy or a Helios C remedy they seem to act the same way. I would be interested in hearing from other people who use a lot of homeopathic remedies in practice. What has been your experience with K vs C vs CH? Guest guest
Hi again-What I have seen in practice is also that an MK is close to a 30CH in action, this is also what is taught by Dr. Thom, and Dr Gueniot. Whatever potency information I have received has come from one of them, not from workers at Seroyal. I tend use the K and CH potencies differently...but if there is a remedy I can't get in the US (from Unda), I'll use a Helios 6C or 12C where I may have used an Unda 200K and a 30C where I might have used an MK, 200 C where I would have used XMK. I have only done this with a few remedies. I have also observed that C potencies from Helios are similar in action to CH from Unda. I have a few Dolisos remedies from a kit I got while I was in school. They are 12C but I use them in acutes like I would a 5CH or 30K.
