This is a lie. No one has died from drinking kombucha, and it's believed that no one has ever gotten sick either. So it's not like, oh well, only 2 people have died so I guess the risks are reasonable. NO ONE HAS DIED. The risk is solely of increased health and well-being. [warning: begin soapbox] The perpetuation of the myth that people have died is just part of the demonization of kombucha, part of the ongoing campaign against alternative health practices because they can't be controlled and profited from by the medical-industrial complex. In case people haven't noticed, Western Medicine is not really about preventing disease, it's about holding people hostage and enslaving them to the system. Not to say that very important and good things don't happen in Western medicine, of course they do, and I have benefited thereby, myself. But Western MEdicine does not do preventative medicine or holistic health support, and whatever it does do well, it doesn't admit what it doesn't do well. It does not admit its limitations. And, it doesn't admit that industrialization is poisoning humans and is the cause of much suffering. For instance, the American Cancer Society continues to say that breast cancer is a disease that cannot be prevented, yet we frequently hear about new aspects of industrialized society that cause it. In fact, the American Cancer Society says the only thing proved to cause cancer is radiation. This is where the need for " proof " becomes absurd, with the profiteers defining " proof " ever more finely so that they are never required to do anything about it. Hospitals host fast-food joints like Mac's, and serve Coke to desperately ill patients in their beds. To me that is indicative of the serious problems with Western Medicine. My point being, people need to learn to sharply question the " research " showing KT to be unhealthy. Any such " research " serves an agenda and has nothing to do with the actual effects of KT. To step outside the Western Medical box requires one to think for oneself and validate alternatives for oneself. Not an easy task in a world in which individuals are systematically robbed of their own truth and self-validation, but a necessary task. [end soapbox] Many people drink a quart every day, others drink even more, and some drink a lot less. I find the amount I drink varies according to desire and supply, but I like a quart a day in general. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
. From in the UK. Conviced KT brewer & drinker. I have been watching your emails from the UK for some weeks now, and was very interested to read your letter and your attitude to " western medecine, " I have long been concerned at the lack of truth in the various diktats disseminated by all governments. I find as I grwo older my level of cynicism becomes stronger. There is no doubt that the establishment here in the UK do not support any form of holistic or natural medicine. I believe precisely for the reasons you state, no profits and no control. I realsie the drug companies doproduce huge benefits for everyone. But it is also apparent that governments are encouraging drug companies intheir duplicity towards the population. Too many drugs are producing horrific side effects, which are not publicised until serious, often lethal consequences are apparent. The level of daily KT intake here is suggested as 3 wine glasses per day, no where the levels spoken of by your various email friends. I am unable to know the " correct " quantity to take, I guess until one feels the intake has become too much or side effects start to show, I simply don't know, but would be interested to learn. One thing I am convinced of is that is very, very beneficial. I intend to ask my own doctor, who is a good friend as well as doctor, so I believe I shall get an unbiased answer. I wish you all a very happy christmas, and extended happy brewing. White. Leominster. England. Baker wrote: >This link from CDC makes me think that it is very safe. Leominster. England. Hi , My primary caregiver is a naturopathic doctor/acupuncturist who is amazing. However, he admits he has some discomfort with kombucha. I didn't ask him what his discomfort is, I keep meaning to, but I don't see him very often because I'm so much better than a few years ago when I saw him often. Anyway all I'm saying is, just because you respect and have affection for your friend the doctor, doesn't mean the person will have an educated view on kombucha. It takes research and commitment to know the truth. I'm planning to take my doc a bottle of bubbly KT at some point. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J.
