Guest guest
Hello group,I have a long-term, 34yo male pt with Hashimoto's (interestingly the onset was post-appendectomy). A few months ago he began complaining of GERD after he had a cold with a cough this past summer. His coughing episodes were prolonged and spasmodic. As I continued to work with him, I thought he may have developed a hiatal hernia, or at least a hiatal hernia syndrome, yet on Chapman reflex points it was never positive. Despite my negative findings on the Chapman points, I decided to try the hiatal hernia correction, which never did anything. Finally, I ordered a barium x-ray and the results of which came back with achalasia and cascade stomach. I will also follow up with endoscopy. My understanding is that cascade stomach findings are rare. Any thoughts / suggestions, experience? Thanks.Igor Schwartzman, NDWhole Family Wellness Center â˜Â www.wfwcenter.com â˜Â Portland, Oregon
