Eczema is usually dysbiosis. Depending on the client, I have had good success with Unda 39, and sometimes I add in 17 later. Also check for either 243 or 226 for liver and I start with Unda 45 for kidney. Sometimes the Gemmos, due to the sugar content, can aggravate a dysbiosis and may be better later. Also, diet is important. I find it best if the client can avoid sugar, white flour, white rice, chocolate, corn, and nuts. Topically, Solvarome compresses work well, along with Unda 270 ointment. Hi Drew,

What do you know about the origins of this boy's eczema? Knowing what you

think the cause is would help me think about this case a bit more.

Have you prescribed a constitutional homeopathic? What about his water intake?

More on his diet?

Without knowing more, I would consider some probiotics as well as a good

cleanser for his acne - I like Mychelle's products (no affiliation), though they

are a bit pricey.

Well my initial thought was that he was sensitive to gluten, and since that

showed up on a food allergy panel we took that out of his diet. On the occasion

(about 1 month ago) that he challenged wheat, the rashed started to itch

uncontrollably, so we know for sure he is intolerant to wheat. I had him

reintroduce eggs back into his diet, and there was no detectable reaction. He

still avoids gluten and diary.

He does have a learning disability apparently, and goes to a special school here

in Vancouver. I never really asked too many questions about his learning

disability, so perhaps that could play a role. In the office, he seems like a

" normal " teenager to me: likes to play video games a lot, does not like veggies

or fruits, and argues with him mom, etc.

I have had him on neuro powder, a probiotic, for the entire 6 months. 1/2 tsp

qd.

He reports drinking enough water. Although, who really knows right????

I have considered a constitutional, but I only prescribe polycrests and he does

not fit into any of them.

The boy does not eat fruits and veggies, and his poor mother has to deal with

this 24/7. I have tried my best trying to convince him that eating more greens

will improve the quality of his skin, but he chooses avoid them altogether. He

didn't even like a greens product (greens first), which most people think tastes

great.

He goes to the gym once a week, and is not very active. Again, getting him to

do some daily movement/exercise is like pulling teeth!

I am just wondering if any members have seen a case like this before.

Can eczema take this LONG time to clear (i.e. 6-12 months)????? I think I need

some encouragement :)

Thanks,

Drew

Tough case, sorry for the kid (and you :) )Just some things I learned from seeing clients who did not progress as I thought they should and then learning why:Is he moving his bowels every day? I know young boys don't like to talk about this with their moms, are you sure, for sure, that he is not auto-intoxicating with all this great liver drainage and skin drainage by not moving his bowels? In exchange for something he took out of his diet is it possible he has added in something else that he is allergic to or even more intolerant to? Did he add a lot of fruit instead of the veggies you might have recommended to appease his mother, i've also seen recently use of digestive enzymes that are "souped up" for carbohydrate digestion has impacted skin issues very positively, indicating they weren't digesting their grains, fruit, etc.You said he does not like the greens (in second email) but has he been taking it anyway, could he be intolerant or sensitive to them?i think more lymphatic drainage is important and for soothing eczema castor oil right on the patches (and on the acne, i know it sounds counter intuitive but have had some happy responses to that - try a patch for a few days if they are fearful.) I saw in one case that unda 270 but overuse was not helpful as it was pushing the "pathways".Worse case of acne I ever heard of (a colleague taught me this and i've seen benefit) responded REALLY well to zinc; person was zinc deficient (for a cursory view see if alk phos is low).Otherwise, if it isn't some food / glycerine intolerance then you might really be moving out some serious toxicity, and if he has learning disabilities this might be showing us that there are heavy metals that are disrupting nervous system, so maybe start more serious heavy metal drainage or if there is a chemical exposure add some glycine for phase 2 liver detox. one client I saw who started oozing through skin after drainage started also had a lot of systemic yeast. I've heard of people being actually "intolerant/allergic" to candida itself.I look forward to hearing other comments. Your programs sounded excellent in theory, I know how frustrating that is when your intention is to alleviate the problem., San Ramon Hi all, A 12 year old came to see me about 6 months ago with coin sized eczema lesions on his elbow creases, and facial acne. We did a food allergy panel and took out gluten, dairy, and eggs. Put him on Neuro powder, fish oil, and aloe gold. His mom put him on a greens formula. 1 month later: no improvement in symptoms. Put him on Ribes nigrum and rosmarinus, and continued the treatments above with Castor Oil packs. 1 month later: he returned with a breakout of eczematous lesions from mid forearm to mid bicep B/L. Very itchy. Very red. Very uncomfortable. I was actually happy at this point, b/c I thought about a healing crisis, and convinced the mom that this reaction was okay. Discontinued Ribes/Rosmarinus, and put him on a set of UNDA's (I think 2, 20, 243) and Cedrus librani. Added inflammation pro cream. Same tx as above. 1 month later: rash is still itchy as hell, bleeding on the corners, and patient reports some "white/yellowish oozing stuff" occasionally. I say we keep going. Same tx as above except UNDA's 3, 22, 50, and Juglans. 1 month later (yesterday's appointment): the rash is still present, BUT no redness or itching. His acne is actually worse now than when we started 6 months ago. I start to get frustrated at this point, and begin to wonder why this boy's eczema is taking so long to clear up. Same tx as above except UNDA's 12, 17, 270 and back to Ribes. Calendula cream. So...the boy never had eczema larger than the size of a quarter, and now he has it the size of a football on both arms, which is not going away. The skin literally looks like boiling water has been poured on it...almost scarred looking. His acne is much worse than when we started. The rash on his arm looks awful. My question is have any of you seen a case of eczema that takes practically 3/4 of a year (or longer) to clear up? And what about worsening of acne? I'm not sure exactly what to tell the mother anymore, but "oh, it will go away eventually." Severe dysbiosis? I actually tried an anti-fungal cream (candigen) at one point with no success. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Drew Sinatra

Thanks everyone for assisting me with this case. I definitely have some

additional tools to work with now, and some added confidence!
