Guest guest
Greetings Amy, Not sure if this is indicated for this patient, but typically elevated eosinophils is linked with allergies (food) and parasites. Perhaps that would be worth looking into since sinusitis can be caused by those as well. Good luck, Ilene Cristdahl, N.D., LAc Churg-Strauss (Eosinophilic granulomatosis) Any clinical pearls for Churg-Strauss syndrome? I have a 30yo male patient with chronic sinusitis and recurrent pneumonia who was just given this diagnosis. The hallmark of the disease seems to be elevated eosinophils. It can progress to vasculitis, heart disease and kidney disease and the eosinophils can be found in extra-vascular spaces. Medical treatment appears to be limited to immune suppressants or immunoglobulin injections. I have many thoughts from a drainage perspective, but would love insight into management. Has anyone treated this? The patient has been following and anti-inflammatory diet with no real change in symptoms. Adrenal support and acute Unda drainage remedies have also not made a significant difference. I feel the need for "BIG" tools while also using drainage and phytotherapy. Any help is appreciated. Thank you! Amy Chadwick, NDPalmer, AK
