This is a disease that can effect goat and sheep, but NOT humans. I had an 8 month old goat kid with crippling arthritis from raw goat milk. So they get pasteurized for that reason only. That way, you kill off what is bad, but keep what is good. I got this information from the Hoegger Goat Supply people. K.C. Goat kids We pasteurize for the goat kids.
