Guest guest
I experienced this yesterday. I was also diagnosed yesterday with acid reflux! Now I'm a bit worried so I'll be watching for the experts answer on this one along with you . Kombucha tea and acid reflux Hi all, I seem to get problems with heartburn every time I start drinking acidic drinks, and my recent return to kombucha tea has triggered this problem again. I wonder if there is a way to buffer the stuff so that it's not so acidic... I guess I imagine something like dropping an alka-seltzer in in right before drinking, but maybe something healthy, like something with bio-available calcium in it. Has anyone had some experiences with this? Thanks -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi , How about taking your Kombucha with meals.....if that is not sufficient how about diluting a small amount of Kombucha in a glass of water and taking that along with meals..... You may need to cut back on the amount of Kombucha you are drinking until your body gets used to it. V and Bev, thanks for the replies. Being a stubborn sort, or at least a persistent one, I'm going to look for a way to up the pH. I'll report back. Peace, -- No virus found in this outgoing message. So I will add that to my list of things to suggest for this, which is, harvest earlier. --V ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J. Guest guest
My 93 year mother has also been diagnosed with acid reflux and lots of gas and resultant pain. I have been supplying her with kombucha for about 6 month now. She started off with very small amounts and increased it to 2 oz befor each meal, no more. She had no problems with it until about three weeks ago when the burning started. The kombucha I make for her is more on the acid side than sweet, but not too acidic, certailly not vinegary. I can't make it more sweet as she also has problems with candida ( kombucha is supposedly not aggrevating it, but the sugar will...).A few days ago we stopped her kombucha, although she loves it. No improvement though.. The doctor's prescription has not helped at all( I already expected as much). Yesterday I took her to a herbalist who gave her a tincture to deal with the acid, and several herbal teas to deal with digestion. It's too early to tell if this will help. Will keep you posted. > > > > > absolutely. The answer is, only drink it with meals, drink small amounts, > > > work your way up. > > > >V and Bev, thanks for the replies. I would really suggest drinking it with food, not before on an empty stomach. It's not a given, to me, that the KT is a contributor to the problem, but, the easiest way to imbibe KT is at the same time as food. >.A few days ago we stopped her >kombucha, although she loves it.
