Q:Autism and brain injury

Hi All- I want to put this case out there because I'm feeling a bit stuck and wanted to get a fresh perspective. I know there are a few of you out there who treat brain injury that may have tips to share. My patient is a 12 yo male who presented two years ago having failed every biomedical intervention for autism, including chelation. His history as an infant is significant for a hypoxia to the occipital lobe at birth which has resulted in "non-specific encephalopathy" (words from his most recent MRI report). He had developed normally until his MMR vaccination at 18 months. When he presented he was on a shopping bag full of "private label"supplements as well as the anti-psychotic drug Risperdal. He was not yet potty trained, rarely slept through the night and

had very few words. To share all the treatments we have done so far would be impossible in this format, but I can summarize a bit. We've treated his digestive issues and yeast overgrowth as well as liver/GI and CNS drainage with Undas. We have addressed the luetic miasm. He has responded well to various single remedies but was seriously aggravated by Plumbum which fits his case very well. Nutritional support includes GFCF diet (which seemed to make no difference), greens, EFAs, Bs, D, Magnelevures, AFA Gen and Red Gen (among others). Over time he has gained some words, is now potty trained and sleeps better (mostly...if he is not aggravated by anything). He can have paradoxical reactions to remedies meant to be calming, but we have weaned him off Risperdal (with the help of Rescue Remedy) and he is tolerating being off of it for about 6 months now. About two months ago, his Mom was pleased with his stability and

felt ready to start the brain protocol. We did phase one in December. His parents and therapists noted increased desire to communicate and more calm except for one incident when he jumped on his bike and rode off into traffic...luckily he was not hurt. At the end of last month we decided to repeat phase one with a slight change to the numbers...he was up all night several nights in a row. I gave him a dose of Belladonna 9CH for a few days which brought him out of his aggravation, but now he seems almost semi-sedated, not interested in foods and activities he enjoys, mainly spends time tapping and vocalizing but not really communicating. School says his performance is up and down. His bowel movements have increased in size and I suspect his yeast is back.We are stepping away from the brain protocol and I've started him back on Zincum and Kali Brom, two remedies he has responded to well in the past. Any

words of wisdom would be appreciatedThanks for reading N.D.N.field, RI401*597*0477

Hello ,

I have found the book " Autism Beyond Despair: CEASE Therapy " found on the below

website to be useful, Tinus would recommend using the MMR homeopathic. The

other thing to try might be some mitochondrial support, acetyl L-carnitine,

CoQ10 etc.
