Hello ,It's my feeling, too, that alopecia areata has an autoimmune component to its etiology. While I haven't treated a patient with this per se, my cousin has struggled with it for some years now. I recently suggested she give a gluten-free diet a try and she's noticed a major improvement with just that one lifestyle modification. So, if you haven't already suggested it, that may be well worth recommending to this young lady also.It would seem well indicated in light of her cow's milk allergy and the link between gluten and various other autoimmune conditions. One little piece of the puzzle, perhaps...Kind Regards to you, mark MARK C.
