Guest guest
Dear all, I have recently started working with a client who suffers from Rabdomyosis, primarily in his thighs/hips. A very basic outline is that he is 28yrs old, bikes to work every day (~150km per weeks) and leads an active lifestyle. His symptoms consist of pain and a limiting of mobility in the thighs which spreads up into the hips and lower back. They occur when he pushes himself hard ie bikes to work, swims and takes part in other activities. His condition is supposedly very rare, and I have never come across it myself. Thus far, he has seen medical specialists in London and Melbourne (aus) and has not had much help in fixing the problem. The rabdomyosis flairs up regularly and he was asking if there are any therapeutic options to relieve symptoms. I was wondering if other supertrainers have come across this condition and have any ideas. I have already spoken to a colleague who is a clinical nutritionist. She has suggested that there may be amino acid deficiency issues resulting in the muscles not having access to the basic building blocks for recovery/regrowth. Any assistance would be most appreciated. Cheers Chris B Eastham BPhEd MAAESS AEP Melbourne Australia
