Guest guest
Because the dairyman's lobby is the one that is PAYING for this to become law, you should go to the newspapers with the info on how raw milk is NOT dangerous and that it's the money behind the big dairies that are forcing this to happen. Guest guest
, That was a very well written article. Thanks. Email addresses in your list below are incomplete. If you could just give us the destination part, it would save us some time. I assume it is the same for all of them? Also, is there a quick and dirty (especially for dummies) tool that will allow me to send the same message but address each email indivdually (including the name in the salutation)? I want it to appear as if I addressed a note to each, instead of " Mass Emailing " which I personally dislike. I may very well have this capability but don't know about it, or how to use it... This would be useful for future use as well...looks like this year will be " Letters to Legislators " year. Since last month, I've written 124 letters for two state's raw milk legislation... Guest guest
Beers of VDACS wrote them. The previous (existing)regs only covered cows and not goats, sheep, etc. The Virginia Dairymans' Ass, the Farm Bureau, The Agribusiness Council, and both the Va Md processors and the Va NC processors have been giving a lot of behind the scenes input. The latest thing they are coming up with is that is it necessary to keep Va's check rating score high for PMO purpose. Could you shine some light on that ? www.MajestyFarm.com It must be obvious that liberty necessarily means freedom to choose foolishly as well as wisely; freedom to choose evil as well as good; freedom to enjoy the rewards of good judgment, and freedom to suffer the penalties of bad judgment. If this is not true, the word " freedom " has no meaning. - Ben Moreell Re: REGS URGENT lotzakdz wrote: > PLEASE!!! > > TUESDAY Jan 25 is the LAST day of freedom we have on these regs. > > We need a barrage of calls and emails to the governor, to the ag > sect'y and to the members of the ag committees > > Even if you have already communicated, please do so again, to AS many > as possible to get the full committee aware. > > I > These new Regs did not pop up out of thin air. In reality they are commonly done by state inspectors under contract to FDA. The PMO and most things related to sanitation are a funny joint venture of FDA and NICMS http://www.ncims.org/ Beers is the the head of the Executive Board of NICMS. You will also notice at: http://www.ncims.org/Executive%20Board.htm , both Dean Foods and DFA have have representation. I suspect that is where the trouble is. I fail to see how the new reg could help Va.'s score. Also Virginia's deficit is $1,116 million which represents 9.3% of the state budget. While not as bad a Ca or NY that's a lot. It seems to me that if this bill is going to do what it states, instead of merely worrying people out of farming, it will cost the state some money. How important to the state as a whole is spending extra money which isn't there on this bill? You might want to look at: http://www.followthemoney.org/ and see if the lead politicians have some donation from big dairy. In addition to Dean Foods and Dairy Farmers of America, you want to check for IDFA, the main national processor lobby. Obviously, there is a vested interest on the part of large entities to control. Mostly, I think, the bureaucratic are conditioned like Pavlov's dogs. The Farm Bureau types tend to fall into line with where the power lies. They are the largest co-op however, they are a co-op in name only. Top employees and CEO Hanman make millions while farmers are starved out.
