Hi, I posted a few weeks back about my daughter Taryn receiving her

helmet and that we were returning to Korea. Well, we made it back

and things have finally settled down a bit. I was wondering if

anyone lives in the Boise area and are receiving treatment from Dr.

Griffiths and/or Sawtooth Orthotics and Prosthetics. We won't be

seeing them again but, after reading some of the problems some of you

have had, I would like some feedback on them. Also, I have read in

some of your posts about children's heads not hardening completely

until 2 years. I was told that we would be done with treatment by 1

year since no changes would occur after that. Is this another area

where doctors can't agree or were we given wrong information? Once

Taryn outgrows this helmet we are done anyway, but I am just curious.

I am really glad I found this group, especially since absolutely no

one over here is dealing with this. We get all kinds of looks when

we are out. Most people think the helmet is for safety reasons. I

guess in a way it is, since my daughter now thinks she is invincible

with it on!! Anyway, thanks for reading!

Andreya:

Hi there! I am not in or around Boise, but I just wanted to confirm

your guess on the "one year/two year" thing. You're right, it is

yet one more thing every doctor seems to have a different opinion on.

Many helmet makers claim that no improvement will be seen after the first

year, yet many others will start treatment after the first year.

Just ask around this place how much improvement you can see in an older

baby!! There are quite a few success stories!

Good luck to you in Korea!
