Guest guest
This is exactly our experience with our daughter...we have been working with a child psychiatrist for 7 years now. We *did* go through many medications to find the ones that work for her. Just because someone has a dr in front of their name does not mean they are God. They really don't know everything...but they usually know more than we do (usually). In psychiatry, often a trial and error process is necessary to find the medication that works best on a particular person and their unique challenges. I certainly didn't hold that against our dr. Of course, we wouldn't have medicated our child in the first place if we weren't at the end of our very long rope--for her sake, and ours. Toodles!>^..^<Maralee RE: TK that was some great info, heres why I say that Michele, Since you mentioned soy products.. id also bring up MILK products. They are pushed by advertisers as they are needed for healthy bones... ba.. Its not true. Recent studies by harvard show that drinking milk has NO impact on our bone density or strength. That milks is full of lactose sugar and FAT!!! Same thing about dairy products like cheese..nothing buy fat, fat, and more fat. I dont trust doctors at all. The last time I walked into the office for my allergies the doctor gave me enough free samples to last a year. But the drug from the pharamcy was at least 30.00 a bottle.. It kinda makes you feel like they are giving you this drug because you will get hooked on it or something. Paxil...ugg.. I have TWO friends who were put on it for anxiety issues. BOTH asked the doctor what side effects they should be aware of. BOTH the doctors said none really.. NONE REALLY!!!! When my friends wanted to get off paxil, they like im sure many others, just stopped taking it. OH MY... one was hospitalized and the other was sick for almost 3 weeks straight couldnt walk because she was so dizzy and couldnt see. Then the ones doctor came back in and said, I TOLD YOU that these had side effects if you stopped taking them. She insists that he NEVER told her anything and IT wasnt on the pharmacy stuff. ANYWHERE.. of course the makers of paxil have a huge lawsuit against them for this very reason.
