Guest guest
Thanks for responding. I had such a difficult day yesterday - I was just drained by the end of the day. I called the cs therapist and asked her specifically why she wanted me to leave the helmet off. She said first the helmet sort of " flys in the face of cs therapy " but more importantly it didn't fit as well afterwards. The orthotist I saw directly after our cs therapy appointment (not the one who made the helmet but another for 2nd opinion) just said he thought it was a bit loose. Our cs therapist said that was because his head was rounder after her therapy. She wants me to get the helmet adjusted as soon as possible if we want to leave it on. So I think I am going to try both therapies for awhile and make a point of getting the helmet adjusted after cs therapy. Probably more trips but hopefully it will be worth it. I must say, I enjoyed seeing my little boy out of his helmet yesterday with all his hair - he just looks like a different boy without that helmet! I just need to remember that he is going to be fine - no matter what and all I can do is what I believe is the best choice for us. Did they teach you things you could do? Just curious about your experience. Thanks Tammy & 12/8/
Guest guest
She didn't do any on me, maybe I'll ask next time. She completely concentrated on his head. It was definitely not a " relaxing " time for us. He was wanting to get down and walk around and play (it's an hour drive there, so he had some pent up energy). I tried to sit him on my lap and feed him a banana while she worked on his head. He did have some quiet times where he was content to sit, but not for long. It was my first time to meet her; we've scheduled again for the 29th (sooner if I notice he's going through a growth spurt). Maybe I'll ask next time if she can show me some things. By the way, I made an appointment to get Logan's helmet adjusted on Wednesday. I think we will just need to coordinate better with appointments - maybe cs therapy in the morning and go directly for a helmet adjustment that day (since it won't fit the same). I'm anxious to hear what the orthotist has to say about Logan's head shape. I'll keep y'all posted. becky & logan 7/23/99 > In a message dated 9/8/00 11:52:11 AM Pacific Daylight Time, bbaylor@o... > writes: > > << I just need to remember that he is going to > be fine - no matter what and all I can do is what I believe is the > best choice for us.
