We need participants to help provide the information needed for the study. Your child will not be required to complete any tests or procedures. The data is gathered through observation. More information about the study is given below. Investigator: Janet K. Kern, PhD Location: UTSW, St Prof Bldg. 1 5959 Harry Hines, Suite 600 Dallas, TX 75390 Contact: Janet Kern or Janet.kern@... Sponsor: Hogg Foundation Purpose of Study: To gather information about sensory processing problems in persons with autism. More specifically, to examine the extent of sensory difficulties in regard to touch, hearing, seeing, taste, and balance. Also, we want to see how the sensory processing problems relate to problems in socialization. Inclusion criteria: 3 years of age and older and a Diagnosis of autism What is involved: You would need to bring your child to my office (or I could come to your house), sign a consent form, answer questions for the Childhood Autism Rating Scale, and then complete the Sensory Profile.
