Guest guest
I was on Neurontin for about 3 months...but Morphine just doesn't help me - I only get side effects! I started on 400mg, and was up to 3600mg. for about one month. I never experienced problems with my voice or any other irritating side effect....but no help either. I was quite drowsy, though. I've never heard of voice problems being a side effect of Neurontine, and since you started having problems so early after starting the med. are you sure it's not a virus infection instead of a side effect? Just a thought. Side effects don't usually come that quick, but every person is different, and your immune system could be very low. Most of us who are in chronic pain situations have problems with our immune systems, and are easy targets for viruses and other stuff. With me and Morphine I can start and stop without having any withdrawel problems - strange for such strong meds. I've also been on Dolcontine for about 1 year (up to 360mg/day) and just cut it out within two weeks. No significant help from that med. either. I know this wasn't of much help, but I hope you'll keep us posted on this, as it would be very valuable information for me to give to my pain specialist at the pain clinic. If you receive any private responses on this that are interesting and contain valuable info. please let me know, as this is one of the meds. I've been on, and I like to know as much as possible about the different meds. that I can. Hugs, Chris J wrote: > > > Has anyone lost their voice due to taking neurontin (besides me!)? Guest guest
Not everyone has a lot of trouble getting off these meds. As I wrote earlier, I haven't had any problems stopping both Neurontine and then Dolcontine. I think it really depends on body chemistry. But I do agree that since Jami has already after so few days had such bad side effects, that there may be a problem with the medication and body chemistry. I would be very sceptical if I had this type of side effect. Morphine just doesn't work on me at all - not even injections. That's probably why it's so easy for me to just stop taking them over a short time period. - - a Eckert wrote: > > > talk to your dr before pulling yourself off the neurontin, you will hVE lot of trouble. Guest guest
Sorry about the mix up. I've been on so many meds through the past couple of years, that it's not always easy to keep track of them. It was Dolcontine that was the Morphine based med, but Neurontine didn't help med either...so I was just as far with both of them. I am not a fan of taking stuff that doesn't have any good effect - it's just filling one's body with unneeded chemicals, and that's not something I want to do. So I'm glad that it's easy for me to stop taking these stronger meds, so I haven't had to have withdrawel symptoms pluss the pain. Have any of you had real problems cutting down on meds? - - Fern Lehmann wrote: From: "Fern Lehmann" Neurontin is not morphine.
