Your case is one reason why we need a Canadian style insurance plan, IMHO. I guess you can go to the county charity hospital and see if they can help you with your medicines. As they are going into the thousands. One was for an MRI and everyone knows how expensive they are. Does anyone have any tips on fighting the insurance company? This is not an HMO. You need to find an agent who can point you in the right direction. My daughter can't get insurance either. She has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and when we had genetic counseling they sent the information to the insurance data bases. We didn't have insurance at that time. You might try a local school. Often low cost insurance is often available for students. I wish I could be of more help. But I wanted to let you know that I also take serzone. It zonks you out at night and you sleep harder than you ever have. But that affect is temporary. Your body will adjust to it (I wasn't told this, it happened to me and asked the doc). If you have trouble sleeping like I do, I suggest you get some melatonin (if you can afford) or some kind of non-addictive sleep aid for when the serzone doesn't work as well. They only charged me 50 dollars up front and then if they won for me they got a percentage. They did a very good job and did get disability for me on the first try. I have Fibro and depression and numerous other things. But they were well worth the money for me. They took away my stress and did just about everything for me.
