Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in February of 2006. From then

until a few weeks ago I controlled my blood glucose (BG) by eating

low-carb and by doing about an hour a day on a treadmill (at a

moderate walking pace). I've managed to get and keep my BG levels

into a non or pre-diabetic range (for example, my last A1c level was

5.7).

I lost ~40 lbs with the above process but that weight loss leveled

off. I've since read that this is fairly typical. I've now started

weight lifting (and cardio) and am following the plan in

Berardi's book (The Metabolism Advantage). Part of his plan calls for

drinking a post workout drink during and immediately after a workout.

My question is around any research done on short term high BG levels.

A typical BG reading prior to and post workout (I workout in the

morning) looks something like:

fasting BG: 95

workout, consume half serving of Biotest Surge. half during/half after

Immediately after workout BG: 160

2.5 to 3 hours after workout (i.e. before lunch) BG: 95

I've been looking on the internet but I haven't been able to find

anything that discusses the impact of slightly high BG levels after a

workout. Has anyone here run across anything that discusses this

situation? I don't have a problem with discontinuing the use of the

post workout recovery drink but I'd like to either keep doing it or

stop based on knowledge.

Thanks,
