I get the " hard to focus eyes " thing from milk (IgA allergy to casein probably) though not from kefir. I don't know why it happens, but it drove me nuts for awhile. It also makes me feel " fuzzy " -- I can't concentrate worth beans the next day if I drink milk. So yeah, it could be an allergy of some sort. Funny thing is, this felt so much like a " hangover " is described.
