Well, I'll never dismiss anything else you come up with! Dee had my DH take photos, front and side of my wonderful bod. Our side profiles look fairly similar - with the big bulge just over the belly button. (I've got 2 more lumps above the big one.) Yeah, I love my eggs too. Sometimes I even have more than 3! lol. At least they are good protein. Hey, at you height, I think your weight is great! In your newest photos you look terrific!!! As soon as I got back from my appointment with Dr. K in Las Vegas, I dug through and found my old surgery binder. Although I've been wearing it, I still seem to be able to eat a fair volume amount. What is a cincher? It sounds like some old female n torture devise to use for beauty-sake. Have you ever heard of any other post-ops having this problem? Now I'm wondering if I'll ever reach even a 70% ewl (or even 50%). Ugggh. Why did you start wearing a waist cincher - did your weight loss stop prematurely? I wore one because I needed to push my hernias back in and I had a very bad pannie, and later, after my tummy tuck, for scar reduction (I had hopes!). It didn't hurt and my waist looks great now. I no longer wear them. I got mine at WalMarta for about ten dollars, or nine. SOmething like that. The brand was Cupid. I prefered the ones without the legs because you can use the potty easier without unsnapping a crotch. Marta

Guest guest
Hi all! I just had to chime in this conversation because I too, just had my 9 month follow up appointment with Dr. K. I had my DS on February 11th, 2004. I too developed a huge hernia that looks like an alien about ready to pop out of my upper tummy! It's right below the breast bone and goes almost to my belly button. It is growing larger and larger, and so is my appetite! I told all this to Dr. K. I told him that some days I feel as if I could eat and eat like a bottomless pit, and no matter how much I eat, I can eat even more these days! I can really pack it in, but I try hard to be careful since I don't feel like I have as much control any more. He said that he thinks because of my hernia, I can not feel when I am full, because it has created extra space in there, and that he wants me to either start wearing my binder from when I had surgery, or go to Costco and get one of their back brace thingees that will act as a binder, and will help to remind me not to eat so much. He says that there is an old addage that when you know you are going out to dinner, you should wear a tight pair of pants to remind you not to eat so much, he said this is the same idea. Other than that, he says I am doing really well. He said that he thinks we can do the hernia repair and tummy tuck even sooner than we thought...I thought it would be at least 2006, but he says at the rate I am going, if I remember to watch what I eat, and stay active with getting enough exercise, that we should be good to go in May! Wow! Just about 6 months away if all continues to go well! I am down 118 pounds. He thinks i can lose 50 or 60 more, then with the panni gone, that should be at least another 20 (yikes!) then w/ the hernia repair, that should be another 15 or so, because he says I'll lose my appetite for about a month. What a blessing that will be! So, needless to say, ever since I've been home from this month's visit to Delano, I have been either swimming, or walking fast and far every single day. I really want to get to the next level of all of this, and I am determined to try real hard to get there. I must say, life is very different already. Every time I take a single breath or take a single step, I am very thankful and joyful. I know that Dr. K saved my life. I don't miss all the pain that I no longer have in my knees and hips, and I certainly don't miss my CPAP machine to help me breathe at night. I love that I can wear my seatbelt now, and slide right into a booth with my husband! Wow...I'm truly amazed and forever grateful. Luv and hugs to all of you who so willingly and generously share yourselves here in this lovely group. You have helped me more than you could ever know...Luv and Hugs...Deb :-) > > Starting at about 6 to 7 months post-op, I noticed a very distinct > increase of appetite. OK. You have > helped me more than you could ever know...Luv and Hugs...Deb :-) ************************************** Hi, Deb: Don't know if you remember me, I was in the room next to yours last February. Since I was a day before you, you were kinda out-of-it while I was doing my walking/socialing in the hallways. Yeah, I eat (and always have) until I get " full. " " Full " is simply something that I can not control mentally. I haven't been experiencing that fullness until have have eaten alot more than I did at 6 months post-op. But I have to report that Dr. K's theory appears to be working for me. I have been wearing my old surgery binder since I got home from the appointment (well, not at night, since I'm not eating in my sleep. lol!) I have always concentrated on my protein first - and low and behold - at breakfast, I'm getting full with the bacon and eggs (however, the same quantity), but without toast, bread. This morning, the day after Thanksgiving, I weighed and I am down the pounds I had gained over the past 3 months along with 2 additional pounds! yip-eee! Anyway, I hope the binder helps you as well! Melinda in NM Who is off today to walmarta to fight the crowds (on the busiest shopping day of the year) to get the Cupid waist cincher
