Pain in the Side

Hey guys,

Need some advice. I have had for the last 2 weeks a pain thjat is

reoccuring in the left side beside The Open hole and Missing belly button. It

did

hurt for a while several weks post op and Dr. C said it was where scar tissue

or some necrotic fat was under the skin. It went away and felt softer for

about 10 days or so and I thought things were getting better. Now I'm having

pain in the Same area but higher and the area is firm most of the time and

hard

others. Not warm to the touch or no fever. So I don't think an abscess, But

I am wondering if maybe the hernia is reoccured. The pain is worse with

activity and standing and for some bizzare reason after I eat. I am thinking

the

PS is going to blow me off on Tuesday and say the same(necrotic tissue that

will disolve), but does that explain why it got better and is now worse?

Also, Since the pannie/HR I am miserable when I get gassy, IS this

normal? I feel like I'm 9 months pregnant and bloated so bad. Is it because the

tummy is tighter? I feel dumb asking these questions and all, but I'm just

trying to figure out what to do and wether to get the PS to be more concerned

about the pain. Am I being a hypochondriac? I always told my patients that a

increase in pain or drainage after it had gotten better might be a concern. So

I'm thinking an increase in pain after what, 8 weeks?!? is a concern.

Mel,

The bloated feeling is normal, in my opinion. I doubt your hernia

is back, doesn't seem likely, right? So that leaves an abcess.

They don't cause fevers most of the time. THey can occur over a

year after surgery, we have proof of that here on our board.

The rwason I wonder about Hernia is it is not painful except with

movement....Would an abscess Do that? I guess depending on where it is. Also

it's

increasingly worse with standing a long period or worse when I breathe deep.

I'm

sick of this and am very impatient waiting on it to heal.

Hi Mel!

The only question I can answer with any experience is the one about

the gas. Yes, when I have gas I do feel more bloated since my tuck.

I do believe it's because the muscles are tighter now. My belly

still feels tight to me, even after a year and a half. So, that

sounds normal to me.

I hope you get some answers for the rest of it!

Hugs!
