Guest guest
My daughter yesterday afternoon took her shower, then came in to me and said look mom, what is wrong with me?? She really looked like she was getting the measles, but it also looked like the hives, and it was just on her tummy. We had some bendaral[sp] so I told her to take some, and the itching did quit for awhile...Well this morning she said look mom, and it was all over her,her hands are swollen she got her rings off...Well, {Marta} she went to our urgent care and saw dr.Washington, love that doctor.. He told her she was having a reaction to some food that she had eaten...She had not eaten anything new,but he told her it might be something that she has ate all the time...She now thinks it might have been her choc chips cookies and milk, as she had had it the night before also...They gave her a predison[sp] shot and pills she has to start taking in am...and of course to still take the benadryl for the itching...The kids don't want to get around her..lol Enough of that...Bobbe you would have been more than welcome, glad you got home ok.. MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! God bless, Pat

Isn't he a sweetie? I love him, too. I have been having hives on my hands and feet. Strange. This afternoon my hands welted up and started itching while I was doing pool maintenance so I think it might be caused by cold. Cold urticaria (hives) is a known phenomenon, but it could just be idiopathic. Sigh... Anyway, I took some Clarinex and made SURE I didn't scratch, having already discovered the hard way that they get MUCH WORSE if I scratch! lol Okay, it isn't really funny. And I am not laughing. My patients can tell you one of my favorites sayings is, " After forty your skin turns on you! " I had hives so bad when I was thirteen that I missed school for several days! Never found the cause. They get worse at times, and sometimes spread up my arms. I have been " allergic " to cold since childhood and break out in Hives that look angry and swollen, with white welts in the middle that join and get huge. the hives on my palms are red spots and continue that way up my arm and come and go. The red spots disappear from my arms, but never completely disappear from my palms. too weird huh? fyi Sharon in Onyx

My red palms spots/hives are from stress, (I believe), because they come and go. My hives from the cold are totally different, and I have only had them once since the DS. Which I think is totally weird as I am always cold since the DS, even in summer... so there you go....weird, sucky hives...sigh Sharon in Onyx

It lasts a few weeks and I can't figure a cause for it. I assume it is seasonal because of the time frame, but can't figure out why it's only centered around the elbow joint. I take Zyrtec when it starts but can't tell if it helps much or is it a placebo effect... Mel http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/
