The diarrhea started at about 5 weeks and has stayed around but has increased in intensity in the last 2 weeks. I called and talked to Dr. Core and he agreed that Flagyl was probably needed. Still taking the acidolpholus.... Mel(fixing to try the butter method...Wish me well) http://hometown.aol.com/mdl1031/

Took Avelox instead, very expensive! __________________________________________________- I wondered the Same, But the whole truth is the butter made it soooooooo much easier to take....You people are lifesavers...LOL. It seems to be helping because the diarrhea has went from every 30 minutes to about every 2 hrs and I'm only 24 hrs into the med. I couldn't take another couple of days with diarrhea the way it was. I did have bloodwork to test for c-diff. I didn't know you could test for it in blood. I always thought it took stool specimens. I guess you learn something new every day. Yummm!!!!) ______________________________________ I like the fried pork won tons. The flagyl is great, no doubt. My Stools had started to smell weird kind of like my momma's did. She had a funky bowel habit since a Gall bladder removal and chronic diarrhea. Makes me wonder if a little flagyl back then would have helped her condition. When I think of people talking about DSers bowel habits being bad I always compare anything to her. So far nothing I have had touched it, until the last few weeks and then I was making myself sick. It's has been a miracle....Down to every 4 or 5 hrs when awake. The first time I slept more than 30 minutes in a row in the last week. Talk about heaven! Crawling out of a warm bed with my electric blankie fifty times an night on a cold (20 degree) night does not make for a great disposition the next morning. I have been a major Bitch(Note the capital B...LOL) They are calling for Snow showers Sunday with a Low of 15 degrees. Tom has GOT to finish the bathroom floor and insulate it or I will die of frost bite...LOL. He's working OT so it had to wait until this weekend and now he'll probably have to finish it in the freezing cold Sunday.
