No, I don't use it for that or for the bottles. I clean my bottles really well with hot water (130 deg.) or put them in the dishwasher if there is room.

It's way to expensive for that. If you clean the teats well with warm soapy water before you milk and dip them after with a good teat dip, your milk should be fine, provinding your buckets or whatever you are milking into is clean. If you are properly filtering the milk, that should do it.

C. Silver is used for infections and if you don't have infections don't use it. The reason I know it won't kill beneficial bacteria is because when I have used it for sinusitis instead of antibiotics, I don't get a yeast infection. I realize people take it on a daily basis, but I don't take anything like that unless I have a need for it. I drink aloe and take vitamins and use homeopathics for my physical problems. I use preventative measures, but if I get an infection, then I will take the appropriate actions.

As for using it on your cow/heifer as a preventative, I would not. But, that's me. A cows milk is sterile in the udder. If you take the right steps to make sure everything is clean, you should be good to go.

CS is not metabolised by the body, but accumulates,

so using as little as possible internally is a good idea. I use it on a

cat we have who hates strangers, so going to the vet is out of the

question unless it is serious. So far CS has nicely healed a burst

abscess, a torn ear, and two instances of pinkeye (or whatever equivalent

cats get).

That makes sense. Both are infections and it would absolutely help that.

I just don't like to take anything unless I need it.
