The only reason white flour and rice are forbidden to me if because they give me killer gas. I don't think of foods as forbidden. I think of certain foods as " moderation " type foods. And I run between 14's and 12's now myself and I DO feel blessed to be at that point, believe me! I am so much healthier than I ever dreamed I would be before I had the DS. It is truly a miracle! However, if a new post-op wants to have the best chance of losing as much weight as possible during their weight loss window, having sugar and carbs only on occasion is the best way to make that happen.
