Guest guest
Thats is wonderful!!!!! MISSYSAHM to some special kids!!! Excuse Me While I Go Raise Tomorrow's Future. Proud Mom I just had to share this with all of you. Im so proud of my son (5). We went to the zoo today. It was 104 Degrees and they had changed the enterance (the main gate was closed due to construction and we had to use the side enterance). I thought to myself..ok he is going to flip out because its hot(he HATES the heat) and the way we always go in has changed and we wont be able to go around the way we always do (you all understand this part im sure). Anyway.. he did so good today I had to wonder if this was MY CHILD. About 2 hours into the experience, he started to seek out sensory stimulation so I found a bench and let him push up against me and I rubbed his back. We then rode around in a cart thingy and I let him again push into me to get his sensory stuff. He went for another 2 hours. He was polite, talked to the other kids around him and was just a normal kid. HE ACTUALLY TALKED TO AND PLAYED WITH OTHER KIDS!!!! He never plays with any other children except his sister. My friend was as shocked as I was. We both were like is this the same kid that went to the zoo with us about 2 months ago and was freaking out, hitting his sister, hitting her and I, throwing a fit because part of the zoo was closed, didnt want to stay for more than an hour, walking around in circles flapping his hands, etc. Im so proud of him !!!!! He is even sitting in his chair (yes sitting still in his chair not moving around or humming) watching a movie. Is this real or should I pinch myself and wake up??? Guest guest
Wow TK, that is fantastic. I am so happy for you. Perhaps the changes didn't bother him because you were able to meet his needs. We just had a similar experience this Sunday. We took my son and his friend to a huge amusement park where we live. We got there real early so we wouldn't have to wait in line too much (this is his first time there) he was fantastic. Even when there was line ups he was very paitent. We only had one incident which my husband caused but other than that he was great and listened and stayed with us. Which rarely happens. I worried all week about what kind of day we were going to have. But I worried for nothing he had the best time and even asked to go back again so you just never know with these kids. Yet I can take him to the park and like you say he freaks out. Congratulations again and you have every right to be proud. in Ajax _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
, Thanks.. and im glad you had a good time at the park I think most parents with "normal" kids take these simple things forgranted... I treasure every moment!! TK Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)
