I'm really apprehensive at the moment..I hate the idea of waking from surgery in a very confused state in a foreign country. How was it for you? I can't have PS for a few months yet, not far enough out yet. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2004 Report Share Posted November 6, 2004 Ed, Wow Ed... that's a lot of surgery. Are you having it done in two surgeries or one? There is nothing to gain by me telling you my Brazil story except scaring you. So I won't do it. I had other issues that complicated my recovery. But I will give you some advice: Take american pain meds with you . If you run into issues down there, demand consults with other doctors. Have someone you trust to advocate for you if you are unable and make sure they understand before you have surgery what your wishes are (like calling in additional doctors for consults). Protein, iron and vitamin load now as much as you can. When is your surgery? Is there someone who will post here and let us know how you are doing?
