Guest guest
Hi Malia, No need to be nervous about the consult appointment. Dee is very wonderful and she will explain everything in detail. She listens very attentively to all your concerns and answers questions in full detail. We are also here if you have any questions. I am now 3 months post-op and I feel great!! I did have some major complications after the surgery but would still do it over in a heartbeat even knowing what I had to endure. Life is getting easier and easier now -- **Wake me up from the nothing that I've become** -------------- Original message -------------- Hello, my name is Malia, I live in Ukiah and I am new to this group. I have an appointment with Dr. K this month for my initial consultation. My BMI is currently slightly above 40, I don't have any life threatening co-morbidities that I am aware of, but I do have issues because of my weight (such as swelling ankles, etc). I have had three family members that have had the DS with Dr. K, and a 4th who is working on the process now. I am very excited to be working with Dr. K and was very lucky to have the opportunity to attend support group in September where Dr. K spoke. I have heard nothing but absolutely wonderful things about everyone at the Delano Surgical Group. I am excited and nervous all at once about my consultation appointment, and I have no real idea of what to expect other than to be there from 9am - 4pm Thank you for letting me a part of this wonderful group, and hopefully I can get medi-cal to approve me quickly for surgery! I hope to get to know all of you better. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Wow, - That's a heck of an endorsement. With everthing you went through and at 3 months you would still do it again. That's wonderful. Thanks for the words of encouragement for those of us who are STILL hanging on to a ridiculous amount of nervousness. > Hi Malia, > > No need to be nervous about the consult appointment. Hi Malia, I am new too. I just got approved by Blue Cross and am setting a date today for surgery. Don't sweat the consultation. Dr K and his staff are wonderful. I have been to many appointments there with my sister and they have always been very relaxed and friendly. Hope to hear more from you. How the heck did that happen? Quick somebody record this moment!!!.... Your Mom and Dad did a great job naming you. Your name is pretty, musical, poetic.... Malia Dawn... This makes me wonder...the naming of a child is a BIG DEAL. I wonder, how many of you feel your name Suits you? Who always hated their name? I always felt my name suited me...Jo...short, simple, straight forward...boyish...lol...remember this is the girl who grew up on a dairy, barefoot, with cow poop squishing between her toes. Always playing with balls, climbing, beating up any sibling who wouldn't bend to my command....yep my name suited me. Hugs Jo
Guest guest
Hi Malia, Congratulations and welcome aboard - I'm hoping you are approved quickly and with no complications - you've chosen the best Doc there is - these folks on this board are very supportive and will answer any questions - and I mean ANY question - so much knowledge - any time I felt weird or wondered about something - I just asked and someone (or several) people would answer - its just great. Best of luck to you Kim Pandora Darkgift wrote: Hello, my name is Malia, I live in Ukiah and I am new to this group. I have an appointment with Dr. K this month for my initial consultation.
