Eat too much fat and you pay the price with diarrhea. That is why I eat sprouted grain bread, for the fiber to absorb the fat to prevent diarrhea. Guest guest
I have much more diarrhea with margarine than with real butter, but knowing we don't absorb half the fats sure makes it easier to enjoy the real thing daily! Milk, cream, and real butter don't affect me at all BM-wise. I can eat a whole stick of butter spread on french bread or bagels and never get runny BM's at all. But drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil over the bread or on a salad and I can expect a good 8- 10 BM's and 3 hours in the bathrrom tomorrow! Margarine is made mostly of oil, and anything cooked in oil or made with oil, like some salad dressings (especially Italian) makes me more than a bit uncomfortable the next day! If I avoid olive oil, vegetable oil, shortning, and any other type of cooking oils I can keep my BM's pretty normal. I have to admit, I still adore deep fried burritos, Onion Rings, KFC, and Long Silvers chicken (I love anything batter fried, darn it!) and I do induldge once a week or so, but I can't eat that type of oils daily or I would live in my bathroom. I too seem to have to keep bread in my diet " or else " . Whether it is bagels, rolls, or bread, as long as I keep plenty of bread in my diet I can keep my BM's pretty normal. Cereal seems to help me as well. Gotta have my grape-nuts, raisin bran and cheerios! But butter? Ahhhh...I love butter! Butter in my oatmeal, butter on my veggies, butter on my bread....LOL, my mom said I used to eat it by the stick when I was a kid! LOL, all this talk about food is making me hungry! Guest guest
My mom said she used to find me stark naked in the summer heat, with a stick of butter in each hand and covered from head to toe in it! She said I looked like a little pink greased piggy!
