Guest guest
Bless you . Times are changing... Hmmmmm, we are being 'inappropriate and unprofessional'. That is a good one... I have been to one of those famous " Legal issues for students with autism " workshops. I watched educators smile and giggle while an attorney patronized parents about " bringing all their reams of data to an ARD " . Forgive us for being proud and wanting to share with our team of educators what our child CAN do! I also listened while folks giggled and rolled their eyes about our " window of opportunity getting bigger and bigger all the time! " It became painfully clear after that workshop why our ARD's are so difficult. We were being been 'set-up'. It just made me sick! A few days later I received a phone call from Senator Florence Shapiro's office. She wanted to talk. Funny thing, SO DID I!! The rest is history... Oh and by the way, I think steam came out of Rep. Grusendorfs ears too! I guess we can strangely say, " thank you " to these attorney's for giving us this little nugget of information... It made my job so easy when speaking to our elected leaders about autism education! Big smiles , that email was sent to you to intimidate and to make you, make this list stop being so darn EFFECTIVE. I LOVE YOU FOR STANDING STRONG WITH YOUR CONVICTIONS. It is obvious how much we love our children and how much we love each others children. Take care, Liz
