Guest guest
A friend in Albuquerque, NM found a writing program that really helped her daughter learn to read, write, and spell. It's based on 33 rules of spelling and was designed to teach writing as the basis for reading. One of the fundamentals is understanding the origin of the words which is why our spelling is so bizarre. It has rules like: i before e except after c and no English word ends with a. I lost it somewhere over the years. Her daughter couldn't pass first grade spelling but after a year using this program she could (at age 7) spell nearly any jr. high school word. I'll see if I can find it on the net. Googahly@... wrote:In a message dated 9/28/2005 8:45:28 PM Central Standard Time, JimmyKilpatrick@... writes: <<Reading issues is my specific area of expertise.
